ABOUT ABOUT

Please Note: We know this may seem a little daunting, but you should have at least 5 minutes of a presentation to give at Speaker Camp--it's part of the critique process (in a very safe environment) that will be essential to helping you perform your best when you're on stage. THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT, but it is STRONGLY recommended, and a significant portion of the afternoon.

Speaker Camp is a 1-day event dedicated to helping you get prepared to speak at conference. Spend the day getting immersed in what it takes to brainstorm ideas to speak about, how to craft an abstract and create your bio, what a well-structured presentation looks like, presentation tips and techniques, and some actual hands-on presentation and critique. We're here to help first-timers and those who are interested in upgrading their presentation skills get ready for the upcoming conference submission season!

The Detailed Version

At Chicago Camps, LLC, we assume that people are intelligent and well-intended, and we're not inclined to tell people what to do. The core of our approach is this: we will do whatever we believe is necessary to ensure that Chicago Camps, LLC attendees, volunteers, guests, and presenters will have a fun, safe and productive environment. Any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by clearly marked name tags.

Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.

We expect participants to follow these rules at all conference venues and conference-related social events.
